This wonderful story is not about the life of Elvis.
The show is set in the 50s and is based on the framework of Shakespeare’s 12th Night….. and is full and we mean chock full of Elvis songs such as Burning Love, Teddy Bear, Blue Suede Shoes, Heartbreak Hotel, Jailhouse Rock….just to name a few. "All Shook Up" is a hilarious, and at times poignant show, filled with amazing music and many larger than life characters. We are looking for a fantastic group of actors, singers, and dancers to bring this incredible show to life.
Come out and hear what the team has to say about their concept of this wildly fun upbeat show, learn about the characters and be the first in line to audition. This is indeed a unique opportunity.
The info night will be Thursday May 16 at 7:30 where you will be given the first opportunity to sign up for your audition.
Auditions will be May 27 and 28 in the evening and callbacks will be held the evening of Sunday June 2nd.
The information night and the auditions will all be at Globe’s home - The Old Armoury in the Georgetown Fair Grounds, 1A Park Ave (Charles and Park)

Georgetown Thespians receive recognition for their theatre accomplishments

The Association for Community Theatres –Central Ontario (ACT-CO) held their gala awards night on Saturday April 6th in Vaughn. Over six hundred actors, directors, members of casts and crews came to Vaughn to recognize their very best at the prestigious ACT-CO Gala- the Academy Awards for Community Theatres. Competition was fierce among the fifty production entries. Everyone sat anxiously hoping their showcase masterpiece would possibly garnish them a coveted nomination or even win them the “Thea”. Georgetown did very well in their respective categories. Not only did they bring home the “Gold” but they reaped many nominations as well.

Aladdin and Jasmine soar on a magic carpet into Georgetown and Milton

Globe Productions’ Youth Company showcases over 40 extremely talented young people from Halton Hills and the surrounding area. Grade 9 student Abby DeNardis, and grade 11 student Jordan May own the title roles of Globe Productions Youth Company’s Aladdin Jr. in their upcoming April and May production. These young and talented students have what it takes to bring Aladdin Jr. to life on the stage. With their enthusiasm and spunk they are able to captivate audiences of all ages. They will entertain you with their amazing acting, wonderful singing and energetic dancing.

Do you have musical kids age 8 to 21?
Globe has three options for you!
1) We have two 2 week summer camps for kids 8 to 13 (July 8 to 19 and August 12 to 23). It is $400 for the two weeks, which includes a trip to Stratford to see a professional show. Just download registration form and email lfraser@fraserdirect.ca for more details. We put on a demonstration at the end of the two weeks. Last summer we did Charlie Brown. What fun everyone had!
2) We have a Sat afternoon fall workshop series for kids age 8 to 13, which is held at the Armoury 1 to 4pm for 8 weeks. This starts in Sept. The kids learn singing, acting and dancing at the workshops and put on a short cabaret at the end. It costs $180 to join this series.
3) Youth aged 8 to 21 can try out for our annual musical. The cost is $155 (includes membership fee and a production fee). It is hard to get in (about
90 kids try out and we take 50), so taking lessons in advance and preparing well for auditions helps. This year, we are doing Aladdin at the John Elliott Theatre in Georgetown and then we move to Milton for a week. We rehearse 3 times a week (less if you are in the chorus).
All activities are held at the Old Armoury, which is Globe's rehearsal hall in the Georgetown Fairgrounds.
