Globe Productions summer camp registration

Dear Theatre Parents,

Thank you for contacting Globe Productions about our Summer Musical Theatre Camp for kids aged 8 to 13.  Globe performs in Georgetown, Acton and Milton and we recently completed our 31st  season entertaining audiences with top notch musical theatre.

In May 2012, we entertained 3,500 kids and adults with our production of "Annie", featuring kids ages 8 to 21. Each fall we do a Saturday afternoon youth workshop series.  These are educational opportunities for our kids, either as participants or as audience members. Next May, we will be performing Disney's "Aladdin", which we will cast this coming November.

This year, Globe has expanded our youth offerings to include a two week summer program (weekdays July 16 to 27), focusing on acting, singing, dancing and performing some of the  songs/choreography from the musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown". This will provide a fun, safe environment for kids 8 to 13 to learn the skills they will find valuable in their future (on or off stage) and also to have a whole lot of fun in the process.

The camp will take place at Globe's new home, The Old Armoury, just inside the Georgetown Fairgrounds gates. All proceeds from the camp go towards the renovation of this building from 1866...and yes, it is older than Canada! This is a great setting, not only because the building is wonderful, but because the camp is set right in a park, so some outdoor exercise will be in order too!

The camp will be held from 9am to 4:30, with extended hours available 8am to 5 pm at an additional cost of $10 a day, for those parents who need the extra coverage. Camp fees are $400, which includes the 10 days of instruction and a trip to Stratford on Tuesday July 24th to see "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown". Twelve parents can purchase tickets for this outing and accompany the campers to Stratford. We have the tickets already on hand and can possibly order more if other siblings or parents want to join us.The trip will be supervised by 3
adults and will be accompanied by me personally.

On the last day of camp, we will showcase some of the things that we have learned during the camp. There is no admission fee and everyone is welcome to attend.

The camp leaders are sisters Joanna (age 24) and Victoria Fraser (age 19), plus a teenage camp volunteer to assist them. Joanna has 18 years dance experience, Grade 8 Royal Conservatory of Music exam in voice and three years full time education at Sheridan College's world class Musical Theatre program. Her assistant is Victoria Fraser, who has 10 years experience in singing, 14 years in dance and extensive drama training. Victoria is currently a dancer/choreographer with Western University's varsity dance team. Both of these girls are mature, have
extensive training and experience in supervising children and hold police clearance certification.

You can download the form on this site and the sign up is at the Old Armoury on July 3 and again on July 9 (between 6 and 8pm). If you like, you can Email me...lfraser@fraserdirect.ca....to reserve your spot in advance. Their are only 19 spots open as of June 25, so please do not delay in booking this. If you have any questions, please include these in your email.

Don't you wish that they had this camp available when you were a kid? I know that I do...Come join the fun!

President, Globe Productions
