Youth Workshop Series
MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS 8-13
Globe Productions’ Youth Company is holding a series of eight Musical Theatre workshops for kids aged 8 to 13 on Saturday afternoons from 1 to 4pm. The 8 week fall session, beginning Sept. 17th, costs $160.00, and is focused on education and preparation for musical theatre shows. All workshops will be held at Globe’s new home, the Armoury. The Armoury is just inside the Georgetown Fall Fairgrounds at the corner of Park Ave and Charles Street.
Led by seasoned Globe professionals, topics will include: comedy and improvisation, music theatre dance skills, vocal technique, dramatic skills, costumes and props, how to audition, preparing a showcase performance and a field trip to the Milton Centre for the Arts on Nov. 12th to see Globe's fall production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Participants will meet the cast after the show and a have a discussion with the directors about the production.
Sessions start: September 17, 2011
Cost: $160 (eight sessioons)
Place: the Armoury in the Georgetown Fairgrounds (corner of Park Avenue and Charles Street)
2012 SHOW IS "ANNIE"
Globe's Youth Company is also presenting the musical “Annie” from May 11 to 13, 2012. Workshop participants will gain skills useful for the auditions for Annie and at the same time, have fun putting on their own show for parents. The sign up for series will be held at the Armoury on Sept. 15th from 7 to 8:30pm and on Sept. 17 from 12:00 to 1:00.
