President's Message

Thanks for visiting our website. If you are new to Globe, we hope that you find the information you need to join us, either in the audience or backstage as a member.  We hope that you will join in the fun and help us to continue our commitment to providing Georgetown and surrounding areas with quality musical theatre!  If you are a current or returning member, we know that this site will help keep you connected and that you will enjoy the memories created as you flip through our photos and history section.

I did my first Globe show in 1967 as a 12 year old in Finian’s Rainbow. Forty years later, I am still here singing and dancing (okay, mostly pretending to dance), and loving every minute of it! My husband and kids also participate and we have created a lasting family bond through the love of theatre. It’s a wonderful hobby, where members can derive a lot of personal pleasure and at the same time entertain others.

We hope that you will come and join our “theatre family”.  Each show feels like no other and the bonds of friendship created in the process run deep. There is always something to do and every bit of help is appreciated, no matter how small. Of course, there is usually a lot of excitement created while the production is in rehearsal and then when we hit the theatre boards, it multiplies. You can’t get 60 creative people together without a whole lot of energy being generated.

Whether you are shy by nature and like to be part of the adventure, or you are totally “out there”, we welcome you to Globe and invite you to participate in a terrific hobby!
